GENERAL SUMMARY:

Technical Sales Associates provide direct support to both the Business Development Advisor (BDA) as well as Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) teams.  As such, Technical Sales Associates work to understand the client's business needs and collaborate with the account team to ensure the development and implementation of solutions to enable the proper IT strategies.  As part of the Sales Support team individuals will be responsible for the development and delivery of quotes, as well as the evaluation of production selection. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                             

  • Generate quotes and manage pricing and profit margins
  • Communicate with clients about quotes as needed
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions to BDA's and vCIO's to manage client expectations
  • Receive requests for service and products from both internal and external sources; provide timely responses
  • Achieve and maintain a positive rapport with clients and work to give them the best possible service
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of the company
  • Work through a daily list of sales tickets in Customer Relationship Management Tool (CRM)
  • Perform sales procedures through CRM Tool
  • Update activities and opportunities in CRM Tool and remain compliant with defined policies and procedures
  • Manage and generate product subscription renewal quotes

 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly sales meetings and ensure sales opportunities are compliant with company policy
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the solutions catalog and how it relates to customer's needs
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses into CRM as it occurs
  • Understand processes by completing assigned training materials

Required Skills

  • Requires either an Associate Degree or 6 months of technical experience
  • General understanding of sales processes
  • Demonstrated level of success in the development of client relationships
  • Proficient with general Office applications
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Skill in preparing written communications and materials
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate data entry
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment

Strongly Preferred Skills

Experience with ConnectWise Sell & Manage

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with any of the following: IT services and products, managed IT services, or IT consulting
  • Prior experience with an MSP
